Allday Time Systems

The company

Allday Time Systems has specialised in the accurate recording of staff working hours since the very earliest days of mechanical clock machines. Now, it’s using modern software as a service (SaaS) solutions for hospitality, retail and the public sector, to keep the company offering right up to date.

The requirement

Allday Time Systems wanted a modern software solution, but had no in-house software engineering capability. Therefore, it was a pre-requisite that any development partner must have been able to work from a concept only. Speed was also of the essence, so custom development partners needed to work quickly and effectively, both during development and after go-live.

Furthermore, the module was to be a core, flagship solution that belonged entirely to Allday Time Systems. The company was to own all the IP and could sell on if required. The move to a proprietary solution meant Allday could shift from buying a third-party product to having its own.

The solution

Given the importance of this new model – and the investment Allday Time Systems had ploughed into it – an Agile approach was absolutely necessary. As Microsec is UK-based, we were on-hand quickly during development and after go-live.

As proof of why this was so important, our detailed analysis uncovered some necessary additional functionality. It was, however, complex to engineer so needed to be mapped out and specified in joint, face-to-face sessions.

The result

The finished product was delivered to Allday Time Systems and went on to become a central tenet of how the business operates every day.

The technologies

The finished platform we specified and delivered was based on SQL Server, utilising Windows Forms, VB.NET, C#, TCP/IP, Microsoft Remoting and HTTP.
